ECONOMY

It is important to remember that the practice of exchanging goods is very old, now the trade has become a determining factor in the economy of all nations. According to experts in international trade policy of a country is based on strategies of a group of government actions designed to encourage firms with economies of scale to locate or start businesses in that country, which means an important development for economic development the same.
For the period 1900-1935 the Venezuelan State was dominant in business, under the terms of Cipriano Castro and Juan Vicente Gómez, although it may seem contradictory. By that time our country was implemented what is called a policy of supplies, where the major cities were consuming centers, centers of a brisk trade intermediary and the corresponding policy was to ensure more stable supply for the consumption in the regional circuits of which they depended. In 1936-1945 food supply policy, became a protectionist policy that ended integrate the domestic market, with a national state with the aim of creating physical infrastructure such as roads, airports, ports, basic industries, airlines, free markets, peripheral markets, social media, encouraging the emergence of many commercial products Venezuelans. By 1989 it breaks with protectionism, imposing a neoliberal trend called Structural Adjustment Program, which brought high social costs, triggering strong protests. Regarding price regulation, in 1939 the executive boards were established to fix and publish maximum prices at wholesale and retail prices established in 1974 with the Consumer Protection Act.
From my point of view Venezuela's achievements in foreign policy over the years 70, 80 and 90 despite experiencing low as to what regards economy, but now I think Venezuela should pursue a trade policy where Venezuelan ensure the benefits this brings, and should remain an oil power, where I consider the balanced exchange based negotiation must be paramount, where our country is not affected as it is today.
